System requirements for Windows Live OneCare for Server

To ensure that your Windows Live OneCare for Server installation runs smoothly, please review the following information:

Supported Server Platforms

• Windows Small Business Server 2008 Standard
• Windows Small Business Server 2008 Premium
• Windows Server 2008 Standard 64-bit

Required Server Configurations

• The server is in a domain that is the root of the forest
• The server is in a domain that has no child domains
• The server has all roles for the domain
• The server has a small number of Business Intelligence objects in the directory

Disk Space: 600 MB of available hard disk space; 25 GB of available space required for central backup features

Internet Browser: Internet Explorer 7

Internet Connection: 56 kbps or faster Internet connection (broadband recommended)

Uninstall other software security programs

Windows Live OneCare for Server might not run, or it might slow the performance of your server, if you install it when other antivirus programs (or firewall programs that were not bundled with Windows Server) are also installed. During setup, OneCare for Server checks for common antivirus programs (and for firewall programs not bundled with Windows Server) that are known to conflict with Windows Live OneCare for Server, and provides means for you to uninstall them.

Notes

• Before you install Windows Live OneCare for Server, uninstall any previous version of OneCare for Server on your server.
• If other antivirus programs were previously installed, you may need to run a clean-up tool after you uninstall the antivirus program before you can successfully install Windows Live OneCare for Server. Contact the manufacturer of the antivirus program, or visit their website to see if a clean-up tool is available.
• To avoid putting your server at risk, do not remove pre-existing antivirus software until you are ready to install Windows Live OneCare for Server.
